We have Battery Tender Jr.'s on my Dad's 62 Ford Galaxie, my brother's 78 Camaro and my 96 Roadmaster. All have AGM batteries. Dad used to have trouble with getting good life out of batteries in his car. He'd have the hood, trunk or doors open too often working on it. He couldn't seem to effectively manage the battery charger and keep the battery up. Now it's never a problem.
We had some disappointing battery life in my brother's Camaro with the first few batteries. The one that's in it now has lived on the tender and is 4 years old.
The Roadmaster sits for a month or more at a time, covered in my storage. With the tender, the battery is always fully charged and the car is always ready to go. I expect long battery life for all three cars. We love having them on the tenders. Dad and I just use the alligator clips. We have it hard wired with a quick disconnect on my brother's car. I highly recommend the Battery Tender Jr. Careful not to drop it. It can cause damage to the circuits.
