FOUND ICEMAN-MRF EVERYONE IS ENTITLED TO THERE OWN OPINION.THATS ONE OF THE GREAT THINGS ABOUT HOTRODDING!MY OPINION IS THAT G FRAMES ARE WEAK IN THE MIDDLE AND I WOULD RATHER HAVE THE ADDED WEIGHT STRENGTH AND RIGIDNESS VS LIGHTWEIGHT AND FLEX ESPECIALLY WITH ONLY ONE BOLT ATTATCHING THE C/M TO THE FRAME. JUST MY OPINION.

Your caps is killer to read. It may be more effective to not use caps lock. Just a suggestion

Makes sense. I'm just commenting as to the fact that I believe it makes it harder to read. I know many people agree with me. You can do whatever you like, however.

Look on eBay for a used G-Force crossmember. These things are made from what looks to be 1/4" steel and I believe powdercoated, so they will last forever, so it doesn't really matter if they are new or used. I got a lightly used one there for about half the price of a new one. Can't even tell it was ever on a car.

i can give a +1 for the jegster crossmember, my car is just a cruiser and will probably never see the strip and it works great, no modifications needed or anything

I guess, I just don't see the logic behind buying a product that is not as good (my opinion) and taking a weight penalty??

The TNT piece is 5#, or five times lighter then the G-Force and the cost is a push.

Same deal with the Iceman at three times less weight.

Why did GM make aluminum hoods, deck lids, rad supports, front and rear bumpers, wiring, drums etc etc.??

They were not building race cars.

Given a choice between carrying a 20# block of lead in your car or not, what would you choose?

All the aftermarket crossmembers I've seen are built for 82 and later models. The drivers side point of attatchment is farther rearward than the earlier models. G Force makes a mount for pre 82's that bolts to the stock location on one end and provides the later model location on the other end. FE100 i think is the part number. I just checked the site, but a couple of pages aren't working right now. http://crossmembers.com
