I am surprised your 700R4 has lasted all these years. You must have got a good one and threw every possible upgrade in it.

It was just a good stock rebuild with shitty b&m shift kit and billet servos which later i swapped out with transgo and corvette servo. I have broken it twice but that was due to poor setup. Lack of 1-2 accumulation the first time. Second time it broke was down shifting 3-2 when the torque converter was locked, broke the forward clutch hub. I since changed it from hydraulic lockup to electric. Required full disassembly which I did myself and cost me like under 50$ in parts. It been behind my 455 since 03. I did last yr pick up a 4l80 to swap someday.

Yes, good chance one of them just needs line pressure mods and a converter for your combo.

I may literally get both. I enjoy gettting my hands dirty and finding "treasures" in the junkyard. I was a fighter jet mechanic in the Air Force before I became a police officer for the last 26 years. My air force job was and still is the most favorite job I had. I find tearing stuff apart and putting things back together " therapeutic". Sorry to go off on my tangent. But.....I will probably get both transmissions and if I do I will let you guys know !

I am running the stock wimpy 7 1/2" ring geared 10 bolt with 4.10 gears posi and a 2004R trans with 2800 rpm stall converter.
Behind my 450-475HP (500+ torque) Olds 455 this thing has ZERO traction...tons of fun...but.... way too much gear
In 4th gear not locked up, it is revving about 2700rpm at 75MPH (120KPH). Tires size P255/45/17 so around 26-27" diameter?

4:10 in a 4l60 with 28 inch tall tire at 3000 rpm you will be going 89mph change from 4:10 to 373 and 3000 rpm is 119
