X2 on the Harland sharps rockers, i have a set that i use on my BBC with stud girdles and are about 18 years old.And i have used procomp rockers with no prob.
I think that all roller rockers are good and when they are broker there junk lol.

Scorpion and Harland Sharps are both nice.

I run scorpions. Proudly made in the USA

Harland Sharpe #5016 and #5017 are true olds rockers.

The # that some places list are not actual olds rockers. From what I've read the geometry can be off on them.

Edit* I just looked at Bill Tovato's book and, "the Harland Sharpe #5003 Olds rocker is essentially a Ford-designed rocker but works well in lower lift applications."

JMHO I believe chromemoly is stronger than aluminum. That being said I like Comp Cam's Pro Magnums but I hear the Ultra Pro Magnums are better. I have a big solid roller with triple pac-alloy springs w/ 850# open pressure and rev to 7200 rpm's. I've had no issues with rockers. Here's a pic with the stud girdle.

I have used Harland Sharp, Crane Gold Race,Crane Energizer and currently run Comp Cams Stainless
I personally will probably never run another aluminum roller rocker on any engine. I've seen too many failures with running an aluminum rocker on the street or in a radical street/strip car.
Most quality aluminum roller rockers will probably last a long time in your average mild build street car since a lot of gbody owners don't use their car as daily transportation but when you add race cams and large solid roller cams you need to step up to at least a chrome moly or even a stainless roller rocker.
Most people don't realize that the aluminum rocker will fail from fatigue over time (even Jesel shaft rockers) and they are not rebuildable like a steel rocker is, there is a reason that aluminum rollers are cheaper than steel.
So my answer to what is the best full roller rocker arm and that would be stainless steel if it is available for your application next would be chrome moly, then extruded aluminum and finally cast aluminum being the least expensive.

565bbchevy, I appreciate your post since roller rockers is one of my winter projects. I'll be going with the stainless or the new comp rockers made with chromemoly steel. You made my search alot easier.. 😀

A friend of mine bought 1.6:1 rockers as a kit from DMR for his olds 455, to go on the Edelbrock Aluminum heads.

The rockers were actually for a Ford 460. I dont know if that translates to Olds 350 Cast Iron heads, but it might.

Harland Sharp and T&D are to rockers like Diamond is to pistons.

I run harland sharp (1.7). Part # 5017.
They are a true Olds designed rocker.
There is a Harland Sharp Ford rocker (5003) that works with Olds, but the geometry isn't perfect.
Call Bill at BTR, he always has them in stock.

Going with a big solid roller cam setup this winter. Will be using comp chrome molly rockers. Buy the stuff once and be done. If you can't afford it, save up. Worth the extra money!
