Brakes shutting car down

If you remove the vacuum line to your brake booster and plug the port on the engine or carburetor, which ever one you are using, does the engine still stall when you hit the brakes.

When I pull hose from intake engine bogs down.... when I plug it rpms raise back up... but braking still stalls it out

I would make sure that when you push on the brake pedal the arm is not pushing on any wires that are hanging down and possibly grounding them out or possibly touching a bare wire as it travels down.

Yes thank you I checked that as well everything looks good to me I don't see anything getting pinched or moved

is that fuel line you are using as a vacuum hose for the brakes?. If it is you need to get a proper vacuum hose, a vacuum hose is made so it will not collapse, the fuel line is made to withstand pressure but it will collapse when used as a vacuum line. I had asked what happens if you remove the vacuum line and plug the port on the manifold.

Ok I will swap that hose out thanks.... ya I would pull hose from engine side of the filter (so it's the same fuel line from intake) and cover with my thumb... the idle would raise...

Does it shut downinstantly like you shut the key off or does it sputter and slowly die an agonizing death

when you have the hose disconnected from the manifold and plugging the port with your thumb is your leg long enough to press the brake pedal to see if the car still stalls?

Lol no my lady presses the brake [emoji23]... but yes it still stalls
