I'm kinda on the fence on this one...
I've met Bob in person, and he's one of the most genuine people you'll ever want to meet. never saw the car in person, met him when he traveled to FL for a gto meet, and had planned to hit the Tail of the Dragon together, and had dinner with him the night before.
I also believe that once the car is in the ownership of another person, you give up all rights on how it's treated...
What you guys have to remember is: Bob bought this car new, and changed it over the years to be highly respectable... kinda like a child. he had it when it had just been born, and had it for what, 30 some years? how many of you can say the same about your pride and joy, and how many could just turn around and not care what happens to it? give Bob a break, he poured his heart into this car.
as for the OP, I've never met him, but if ol' Bob is still friends with him after all of this, he's got to be a stand up guy... why do y'all care about his business, and what happens with the motor? give him a break, he's the one who ponied up the $$$ for the car, and it his to do with how he sees fit...
I'm not defending anyone here, just being a fence sitter...yes the Bronze Brick is somewhat of a legend, along with a handful of other cars that have taken center stage in here, but sometimes legends fade into the sunset. keep it in your minds the way it was when Bob owned it.
