WOW!!!! Those wheels are beautiful! I've seen many "stock" pics online, but not a real life pic. Those are gonna look sweet on the 442!

They are out of my price range too [just ask my wife!]. But, I was looking at $1000 wheels I really didn't want at all, found those $1600 ones that were OK but still not thrilled, and from there you pretty much just jump straight up to that $750 each nonsense. But, you do get "exactly" what you want that way and I am thrilled with the results. Thanks to 86-blk442 for turning me onto them in a different thread . . . [not sure he follows this one].

I think MHT is the parent company for US Mags.

I went through AZProPerformance which is mostly truck stuff but they quoted me about $250 less than my local Discount Tire store did. Great folks, answered lots of questions, and believe it or not the lug nuts are not included from US Mags in the price but AZProPerformance are just sending me the 1/2-20 conicals for them gratis. I moved everything under the hood to SAE when I built the big block and am in the process of moving everything to SAE with the suspension, body bushings, rear end, and 4 wheel disc swap too.

You converted to half inch wheel studs?

Yup, moving to Wilwood Big Brakes on all 4 corners and Moser 30s axles out back.

Well, on the one hand, going from 12mm to 1/2 lugs isn't a huge change but that and after learning about the c-clip problem in back . . . I won't lose an axle along with one of these high dollar wheels now either

I noticed just trying to put on a decorative cover that the factory 8.5" internals are junk after less than 4000 miles behind the big block and I have not even been that hard on it. Or maybe knowing they only had to stand up to 170HP/250lb.ft. back in the 80s they just put in cheap junk internals to begin with? Hence, the HD Eaton Truetrac, going from 28-30 spline Moser axles, 1350 yoke, while I am doing that, going up to 3.42 from 3.73, and a 1350 joints Strange drive shaft. Given all the torque I now make and starting down at low rpm, it should not only improve drivability but I should be able to run most auto-x in first gear which has advantages. Since I am an efficiency freak enough to make this big block run off the '87 ECM and CCC to the point of 18-20mpg now, 3.42 should buy me 1-2mpgs. 20-22mpg out of an old school big block ain't bad . . .

Right Now? I'd REALLY like to just drive it again period. Seems like I've been in pretty soon mode for years . . .

Sigh . . . pretty soon!

Wheels are here! My rather filthy 442 cap is just sitting on there and I have finger prints all over them already so the wheels need cleaned too frankly. If you cannot tell from the pic, they look amazing as they should for over $3K of wheels. I have a local guy that will fab a converter center cap that this will snap on to. I also have the factory gold wheel tape for around the lip and then . . .

you have 17x8 and 18x9.5 versions of the 15x7 GM SSIIIs

Very cool! When will we get to see the rims on the car? Those are really nice. Thanks for sharing
