Cam durations don't have decimal points

My wife's a teacher and I occasionally share posts I run across. Over the years she's taught everything from K-8 and has seen it all. It starts with her reading them 2 or 3 times with a completely puzzled look on her face. It ends with her shaking her head in silence. She's actually amazed I can semi-decipher what's trying to be said -- most of the time. I don't know whether to be proud or embarrassed. In her defense, she teaches in a private school so I like to hope she's not part of the problem.

Internet grammar and real world grammar are two different things, I HOPE. I know on here I will type with the least care of getting everything correct and proper. In the real world when I write for work or whatever I do my best. Guess I just don't care about my writing on the internet as long as it is legible. 🙂 I do run a blog though so I have been working on my writing a little more than usual. Nobody wants to read a blog about firearms and outdoors that looks like it was written by a child.

I guess I've learned to over look many things, text type, slang, and incomplete sentences used to bother the hell out of me. It took me a long time to figure out what "lol" meant 😳 , I thought it meant "oh", I guess many people thought I was a dick for "lol"ing at their issues :lol: .

Back when I was in highschool (not long ago), while in autobody, the school decided we as students needed extra help with our English during our occupational education time. I thought it was ridiculous, but in came an english teacher, and asked us all to write a paragrah about what we did in the shop that day. I was shocked to learn that 90% of the class was unable to complete the task (20 of us in the class by the way), so it's not just here on the net.

I recently had a post deleted on another forum for complaining about a rambling, punctuation-free post typed in all caps.

And right there is just a glimse of the problem with todays society; let's all go out of our way to coddle the stupid and the lazy and force the intelligent people to have to work around them. Too fat to walk, make the goverment declare you 'disabled' so you can get special treatment. To lazy to work, that's OK, the goverment will pay your bills for you. Are you an intelligent, hard working person who does their best to contribute to society but is fed up with having to junp through hoops for the dumb and lazy while they get $hit handed to them because they're 'special'? Tough $hit!

The author pitched a fit and demanded to know if a Master's in English was required on that board.

No, just a brain and some common sense would be nice though. If I was the moderator on that forum I would've laughed in the guys face and told him start posting like an adult or be prepared for ridicule pure and simple!
