TH-200-R4 instead of TH-200-4R bugs me a little. Mostly because I despise the TH-700-R4 so much.

I get the R4-4R thing confused so much.

This morning I literally yelled at a neighborhood kid to get off my lawn. No joke.

I think it's funny, I agree about the punctuation thing. And I agree about the decimal points. ten dot be kinda critical about technical things i guess. But when it come to dizzy, and transmission i use them both. And Cutty we use around here for one particular Cutlass that has been in my family and friens circle since I was 18. It's more of a term of endearment then anything else.

So do you use the decimal point before "big cam" or "cammed out"? Or is that just Mustang guy talk?

I haven't noticed the duration decimal thing. For what ever it's worth , I put an asterick after the number. My meaning is degrees of duration.
Kinda splitting hairs though. :blam:

When did the colon replace the decimal point when expressing gear ratios? For example, 3.73:1 (or more simply 3.73) is commonly written as 3:73 which makes no sense whatsoever. Someone's driveshaft turns 3 times to make their axle turn 73 times?!? How does that work?

Is there any rear gear that's not rated at one revolution?

Probably not, but that's not the point. A ratio is a statement of how two numbers compare. The two numbers are separated by a colon ( : ). The number of driveshaft revolutions on one side and axle revolutions on the other. The axle figure is always 1 and it's fairly moot to even bother writing it out. The colon and that decimal point are not interchangeable. It changes the meaning of the numbers into something that doesn't make any sense.
