Cam durations don't have decimal points

Driven, You make a good point about borders and those who are in Europe and other lands could be confused by the short cuts. There are some who are learning English by through posts on this forum and they are not being helped with the short cuts.

This morning I woke up at 4am. Had my coffee and breakfast. Then I yelled at the morning TV news. Shook my fist at the newpaper. Went on Gbodyforum, flipped off the screen because of all the people using text speak and lack of punctuation. Ate lunch and Then it was time for my 9am nap.

I always sounds like a grumpy old man. My wife says I'm an 80 year old stuck in a 25year old body.
This morning I literally yelled at a neighborhood kid to get off my lawn. No joke.

A 1000 times this. Can't effing stand it when some noob doesn't feel he needs to take the extra 5 seconds to type out a coherent post using the English language and instead expects everyone to try and dechipher WTF they're trying to say with their 'text speak' mumbo jumbo. I usually skip posts written like that.

Now I'm fine with abbreviating certain things like carb, transmission etc because this is most likely the way you would pronounce it if you were speaking, but yeah dizzy bothers me an Cutty just makese want to scream.

The thing about the decimal points on duration numbers is is that if the person understood what the numbers meant, they wouldn't put in a decimal point and if they don't understand what the numbers mean, they ( in many cases ) shouldn't be messing around with cam swaps, cam recomendations, and/or owning/building a performance engine you know nothing about.

Yeah, "cutty" is another one I never heard until I joined this forum.
I owned a Cutlass before and I just called it a Cutlass, I'm not sure how you get "cutty" out of that it might be the same person that thought up "dizzy"

Lift is measured in decimals so I guess it's just natural or a habit for some to type it when speaking about duration too. What's the big deal? If you know engines then you know what they are talking about.
I certainly won't let that worry me when we've got dumbasses that have dizzys in there cuttys. Or even worse, cutdawg.
transmission irritates me too but I think that's just a yankee thing....LOL Around here if we want to shorten transmission it usually comes out "trans"
A transmission is one of those weirdos you can find on craigslist or on the streets in big cities.

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU GUYS ALTHOUGH I AM AT FAULT FOR A COUPLE OF THOSE THINGS. <<<<Hate the caps lock thing too haha. Thought I would share that with you. I might be messed up but whenever someone says transmission I immediately think about somebody with a sexual identity crisis

"Asian transmission" is an ongoing tongue and cheek thing on the Datsun forum I frequent (where dizzy is the norm). I'm another one that will occasionally shorten it to trans but not often. The Cutty thing bugs me a bit too. I think it is more prevalent in certain social circles or regions. I don't here it much around the area I live but seems pretty common on this site. I've never been much of a fan of "Elco" or "Elky" either. For some reason it bothers me more when people refer to mine that way but I don't think twice if they have one and refer to it by those names.

Yeah, the ones sporting the "dubs", "donks" or whatever they call em this week.
24's, 26's or whatever size this ridiculous fad is up to now.
Those are pretty much the only ones I hear saying most of the terms mentioned on here. They're also the only ones that have all but invented their own language.....ebonics.

TH-200-R4 instead of TH-200-4R bugs me a little. Mostly because I despise the TH-700-R4 so much.
