I'd be removing the engine to give it back to the engine builder so he can find out where he went wrong..

Get some engine oil dye and see where the leak is coming from.. probably a loose or missing galley up by the cam. Put the dye in run a few seconds then drop the trans..hopefully its not a cracked block..

The engine builder will look after me. He's a good guy and is well respected in the area. He has been out to my house 4 times in the last couple of months and hasn't asked me for a penny after I paid him for the original work.
I would love to have had the car on the road by now but it's not and it's December and I live in Ontario so I now have 4 more months to get it on the road.

It can only be the cam plug or an oil galley plug at this point.
I dont think we need the dye but I am a little interested. What is this die called and where do you get it.

Okay could be a cracked block too but I had this block on the stand in my garage for months while I finished building it and before it went in the car. I'm sure I would have seen a crack no matter how big or small. Engine builder only race prepped the block and assembled the short block.

I wasn't saying anything the engine builder but it's been a few weeks that you've be trying to find the leak. It's a fresh installed engine so it's only a couple of hours to get it out..

Your right but I'm going to leave the motor in and drop the transmission first.

If that still doesn't fix it the motor will be out faster than you can read this forum thread.

Pain in the *ss or not, I'd be spinning the oil pump with a tool and eyeballing everything. Or maybe get your builder friend to do it, he should be familiar with the operation.

If it isn't visibly obvious once the transmission is out we will do that.
One day this week after work I hope.

did you find the leak yet?...

I haven't had a chance to get out to the garage. I am hoping that today is the day. I'm going to go out and turn the heater on in a few minutes.
