Changing valve cover gaskets

The bolts are 1/4" - 20. I've always used a 10mm (6-point) socket to remove them.

10 mm socket is larger than a 3/8" socket and can cause you to round the head.

Impact drivers work great for situations like this,if you have room to swing a hammer,I know O’Reillys carries them

Use a GOOD (not rounded off) 3/8" socket and drive it down on the bolt. An impact driver is great as previously mentioned. These are usually not a problem, just take your time and be patient

It's 1/4 inch bolt, stuck, and needs to be worked out if possible. you can break it with a 1/4 drive ratchet
