Check engine light?

Hey guys.

Ever since I got my GP, the check engine light came on. It'd stay off until I drove the car for a few minutes then it'd come on. Stock 3.8L V6 85 GP. What kinda stuff should I look into to stop this?

can you try pulling codes on it? its not like an obd II car, but you should be able to access the codes anyways... probably something like jumping terminals on the ecu connector and checking for flashing lights

ok i cant resist this....... did you check the engine light? lol
ok, maybe 2 hrs sleep only makes stuff funny to me, oh well.

check to see if the convertor is plugged, and that prob still has the electronic carb so it may just need set up.

my gm factory manual says you have the connect two terminals and count the beeps or flashes or something like that.
