Another tip would be use a brass T fitting to retain the sender for the dummy light as a "Oh sh*t" back up. If you have an electric choke this will keep from having to fight with keeping it working as GM tied the circuit for it with the oil light sender. I'll X3 the copper or braided line over the plastic tube.

The 307 has the same bore as the 283 & original 265 (3.875), it has the same stroke as a 327. All 307 have large journals. The 302 does have the same bore as the 327 & 350, the same stroke as the 283. '67 302's had small journals & the '68-'69 had large journals.

Thanks for the info. I had been told before that the 307 block could be used to build a 302. I guess not. Never knew the bore spec on a 307. I had just heard that a 302 was a 327 block and 283 crank and you could use a 307 block to do it, but you can’t bore out another .125”.

I would go with the braided hose. It’s more flexible. Though the copper tube in my Cameo is 62 years old and still in use.

In addition to 565 there is an oil gallery plug just above the oil filter and another on the block just under the intake in the front. There are a lot of cheap 350 engines/parts in the Detroit / flint area.
Depending on what your looking for I might be able to help you out.

I'm just looking for something cheap at the moment, even a short block would work but with Christmas coming I cant get anything till the beginning of the year. My plan is to pull out the one that's in it right now and just see what happened. I got replacement panels for the rear quarters so I might just spend the winter messing with some rust.
