I NEED a 1901 Edelbrock AVS2 Series for my 305 but they are all back ordered until October...🤦🏾‍♂...1901 is the electric choke 500cfm carburetor...

There is a 1902 AVS2 500cfm, but it's a manual choke and I don't have a manual choke setup in my '84 Monte Carlo...and AVS2 series carburetors can't swap from manual choke to electric choke.

How challenging is changing my choke setup in my car to a manual choke setup ?
 
1901 and 1902 are Qjet carbs...
No, they are not.

Quadrajet was manufactured by Rochester division for General Motors. That is the ONLY quadrajet.

Other companies make a spread bore flange carburetor to be compatible, and sometimes are billed as 'quadrajet style' but they ARE NOT quadrajets. End of the day they are still edelbroke.

1901 and 1902 are Q-jet carbs, regardless of your opinion on the brand...

Here we go again with the forced opinions...

What does any of this have to do with a choke conversion to manual...? 🤦🏾‍♂

Edelbrock made a Quadrajet copy years ago. It was model #1901 and has been discontinued for years. That's what the #1920 kit you listed fits.

The current #1901 is the AVS2 (AFB) that you think you need. They are in no way the same carb.

Summit lists the #1901 AVS2 as backordered until 4/25. If you're too impatient to wait a whole month, order the #1902 and put a cable through your dash.

Amazon knows more than Edlebrock cause research, research, research. If 1901 & 1902 are Qjets type carbs GM, Edlebrock & Holley have it wrong on what's a square bore or a QJet which in turn makes all of use passing usable info wrong about what type of carb we are using. Research the manufactures web sites not sellers web sites. Don't like this posting, don't respond to my posting, don't acknowledge this or me for posting this. Research. research, research.

Fact remains, NO edelbroke is a quadrajet. Only a Rochester Products Division carb manufactured for GM is a quadrajet. Period. Even those new Chinese knock-offs you find on ebay are not a q-jet.

Heck, the 1901 and 1902 even have that elongated rectangular body edeljunk uses instead of the rounded body equal squared shape of an actual q-jet.

As for WHY it matters, you're complaining of an indefinite backorder amd complaining you NEED that and only that carb, under the mistaken impression it is something it isn't.

You think it's a qjet, claim you need it under the assumption mistakenly it is a qjet, and so, we as a collective are trying to explain the part you say you need ISNT WHAT YOU THINK IT IS.

The only feature that the Edelbrock AVS series shares with the Rochester Quadrajet is the Air Valve Secondary. The Edelblock is a square bore carb not a spread bore and if memory serves me right, the Edelbrock is modeled after the old Carter AFB line.🤔

Then, when there's extra parts and adapters to buy if it doesn't work with the other parts he bought it's our fault just like he bought the wrong rotational direction fan on his own because it's what he decoded he needed... hmm, maybe Amazon told him THAT was correct too.

But if we DO point those things out, we're going off topic and not answering his question amd he throws a tizzy fit.
