You planning to extend that out farther in both directions? I'm curious how much overlap you're targeting.

Je ne m'inquiete pas.

These cars are built with such wide tolerances that the amount of difference corner to corner isn't a worry for me. Where the car is being worked on has an 1/8" variation in slope on the floor, it is as good as one could hope for.

Continuing on with this project. The first thing I did was cut the spot welds and reshaped the curve, it is more inline with my vision for the final product. See the spreader? Normally used for popping ball joints - in this application it became a height gauge. This gave me three pick up points to make sure the curve was identical side to side.

Once that was done - I traced the curve onto the plate and bent the other side to match. When doing a project like this it is important, in my opinion, to systematically repeat the steps side to side so as to not forget the process. Plus, having had just done it the other side should go quickly by comparison.

Next I chopped out more of the trunk floor on both side to gain access to install the rear plates. These pictures should provide an idea of where this part is heading.

More of the same. Important thing to note is while the rear frame rails are similar, they are not the same.
