MONTE CARLO "COPO" Monte Carlo SS - Turbosaurus Build (Swinging Dick Racing's c*ck got bent... she bounced a little too high & hard, & came down awkwardly)

What a f*cking disaster. The trim clips were buried under the urethane. Tough to do anything when they won't flex. Also had to replace a few that broke... so I had to cut and chisel it all out of the channel. My hands are raw now.

This is what get for trying to do something simple like a trim swap; which won't look all "puffy" when it goes back on.

But, hey... I got to make another tool today.

Did u have a pic or a link to the correct windshield trim clips?
I have to pop the Monte's windshield out and have them just in case.

I see you watch AvE's videos too! Guy is funny as hell! Ordered a ruler myself but it got lost in transit. Need to order it again. Keep your dick in a vise!

Didn't you know that we Canadians are the funniest, most clever, and good looking people in the World?

Definitely won't be using aluminum shims/bushings - dissimilar metals. Some steel fender washers will be used as needed to get it level - but once it is there will be brackets holding body to frame. This car will not have a cage; dealt with that in my Buick and was the reason I sold it (could not take the family out in it). I figure I can do enough frame stiffening to keep it planted and from twisting. 2500lbs would be incredible.

Currently shopping for a turbo for this little 4.8L.

Going back over your build I know you don't want a cage but that's a lot of HP to handle and tracks won't let you run w/o. You may have seen pic's of my cage install which leaves the back seat open along with the trunk. I also have a few pic's of helping the frame - G-bodys need it.

I hear you. Maybe in the next iteration of this car... For now I really just want a fun driver.

I sold my caged car last year to build the wagon so the kids can cruise with me now. This project is just something to keep me busy and if I do it all at once I will be very bored.

More pics of the frame reinforcement, if you have them!

Decided I need to get moving on this car a bit to clear some space around the house before the snow flies. I need to do a couple of things to the 8.5" before it takes up residence in this car: change the bushings, and weld in the UMI LCA relocation brackets.

I decided to hit it with my purse a few times and show those bushings who's boss.
