So just a quick update on the cam in the 4.hate. Tilt your noggin:

Tilt it to the right, dummy.

So what? Well here's an equally "large" cam in a 4.8L and how it makes/carries the power:

Basically you're going to need to shift it around 7400rpm to make use of the area under the curve.

Need some floor space for the next stage of the project - so I cleaned up the PS fender liner and gave it a little protection, and slammed it in place.

The next stage of this project involves a few initiatives:

1. Fix the floor;
2. Paint and swap the dash (gut the insulation)
3. Change the quarter glass and trim;
4. Do some more of the colour change;
5. Build a shifter/console bracket;
6. Swap out the bench column for a tilt unit; and
7. Install floor shifter and console.

With the loss of my air compressor I am dealing with some serious setbacks. Never realized how much I came to depend on it over the last decade. Thankfully I still have my wits about me... and tools powered by magic pixies.

Anyway... I pulled the seats and carpet out, scraped up the useless seam sealer (hint: your rust free G-Body isn't), and assessed the situation. Overall it is as expected - and only have one small patch to make on the driver's front. Typical stuff. I'll POR-15 it and call it a day.

Note that little white pad on the floor board - in all my years of working on these cars I have never seen that. Probably exhaust/cat insulation for the Buick V6. Weird.

Other than that I just slid under the car and laid there for a while coming to grips with the fact this car will be back on the road again this year. Wild.

Where there was once a hole now there is none.

You can taste the quality.

Good enough for the girls I go out with.

Goop a little seam sealer in there and call it a day.

So I started shopping online for some seam sealer, and next thing I know I have a couple of quarts of epoxy primer and black paint on the way from Eastwood. How does a $7 tube of seam sealer turn into a $250 paint order? Damn you free shipping to Canada... damn you!!!

Also you guys are going to be so disappointed if you think this is going to be a nice spray job. LOL. Gonna be functional at best - assuming it doesn't fly off with the pressure washer.
