I think that pin fits every rear ever made. Hooptiewagon got his from a Ford dealer.
True. 7.5 and 8.5 rears use the same screw. And some Fords and some Chryslers use the GM part. Same thing. Only 42 number and letter sequence for Ford part numbers. Jeez can they make it any harder?

GM's latest p/n 12337979, still available from GM. List price is $11.09

Ford p/n D8BZ-4241-C

Chrysler p/n 3507724

I did look at the Dorman part 81048. Not sure of its pedigree.

Always a horror show. Sometimes if there are few threads left and it is loose, a small slim magnet will unscrew it. And if it is really bad, a big drift and a sledgehammer will bang the shaft out the other end, shearing the bolt. You wanted to upgrade to a posi carrier anyway- right?

Just went through this, I left the rear for a year after breaking the bolt head off. Bought an extractor kit with long cobalt bit and other pieces plus later on some strong skinny magnets. Just fixed it late this summer. Extractor kit is a good theory and helped but the bit broke, so I went hack mode and drilled into the crosspin to help extract it. NOS pin was $25 shipped on eBay, just had to be careful obviously around the gears cutting 😁
