What a sh*t day. Managed to get the MCSS up in the air but haven't been able to turn a single bolt. Wife and kids are very needy today. And they do come 1st. Animal Performance Transmissions is who I ordered my converter from. For 3 1/2 months I have been patiently tying to get them to build it and ship it. They advertise 50 days and it has been double that. They told me it "was being built" or "will be shipped today, tomorrow or next week" three times. Today I cancelled my order. FXXXXXXK!!!!! Trying to find a good converter for about $600 or going with the new, stock one that came with the transmission.

Shoulda took the recs....most FTI and Circle D units are at your door in a week or two.

Looks like FTI from Summit. Seriously the Animal TQ was a helluva deal if they would have ever bothered to build it.

I was originally down to the FTI and Animal converters. The specs on the Animal were slightly better and $300 cheaper. Cheaper isn't always better.

Got the 355 and trans out of the car. The oil leak(s) I have been dealing with is the backside of both heads. I'm going to replace the gaskets for the new owner. Then, thankfully I can start installing my 6.0/4l80! The engine bay looks better than I expected. Only one surprise. The heads on the torque converter bolts were cut nearly in half. Not sure if they were like that when I bought the car or if the local shop did it. Neither the seller nor the shop owner mentioned it. BROKE NOTHING! That is always nice. Noticed my front tires were wearing on the inside tread. Picked up some inner & outer bearings. There was some wiggle when I tested them Not much but I'll replace them while the car is down. Also going to get new tie rods, center link, etc, and shocks. Also ordering Cooper Cobra 225/70R15's for the front to replace the worn BF Goodrich.

I treated myself to a few new tools from Harbor Freight. Love those super coupons. 10 pak of 4 1/2 inch cut off wheels. A ratcheting screw driver. Package of bungee cords. 1/4, 3/8 & 1/2 hex to socket adapters so I can use sockets with my drill. Got a 25" long 1/2 breaker bar. Used the breaker bar and bungee cords already. Will use the cut off wheel tomorrow. I have a couple of smaller too boxes and wanted to consolidate into a larger box. I went to Lowes and got a Craftsman 26" 5 drawer bottom cabinet with wheels for $84.99. I'm going to leave the wheels off and set it on top of a deeper 26" cabinet. It should hold all the tools from the 2 smaller boxes.

Got started on cleaning. There was plenty of grime and grease but it came off with degreaser, power washer and warm soapy water. Layed the rattle can to it with high heat rust inhibiter. It will get a coat of gloss later. Nice to be preparing to install the new engine finally.
