I ground the "bumps" down to where the manifold cleared. Ugly but I believe it will work.

Did my Holley oil pan and flex plate. It all went together easily enough. Had to test fit the truck windage tray to see what needed to be modified. The directions made perfect sense after it was pieces together. Didn't have a cutting wheel for the angle grinder so had to borrow one from a friend. Got a new rear main seal and the rear cover on. I have push rods, rockers and sensors left. Ordered a few items in anticipation of buttoning up the engine. Oil, oil filter, water temp sensor because my old one fell apart. A new set of rear tires. Also decided on a Wix filter with a return built-in instead of a regulator.

Some more small items. Since I had 4 broken exhaust bolts with the original manifolds I picked up some ARP header bolts and copper collector gaskets and stainless hardware.

Those header bolts are nice but they'll be rusting once you get them wet. I bought ARP header hardware for my big block & all of the 'black oxide' parts started rusting after I cleaned my engine the 1st time.

Header bolts rust. No getting around it. I'm being proactive and getting a quality set that should last a long time.

What the he is saying is those ARP's WILL RUST NO DOUBT! My ARP head bolts are already showing signs of surface rust, and my car is inside!
You need either stainless or good zinc coated ones.
Gotcha.

I replaced my ARP's with local

Exactly. I assumed paying extra for quality meant stronger fasteners AND better coating/plating. The latter is not a true statement. I pulled the studs & cleaned + painted them & purchased local hardware store SS nuts/washers.

Sold my 355 today. Pulling it this weekend. WhhheeeeHooo!
