first i am told i need to learn english and go back to high school so i site a dictinary and then called stupid.

i have not called anyone dumb, stupid.... told anyone to jump off a cliff.... and i am called stupid even after i have a sited source backing me?? stubborn i can handle, i will agree on that one

i guess this is one of those arguements that no matter what you can prove you are still wrong

And the "sh*t storm" continues. This is really getting funny, but it's closing in on nasty. Maybe we really should stop the thread, or lock it, or whatever. I understand the OPs first thoughts, and agree with most others, but you know that old saying, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder", so is custom, modified, altered, etc. etc. Kinda like interpreting a rule book, we will not all interpret it the same. If you want a great example of custom I found this in another thread ....

"When I got my car the stock heater didn't work. Someone had an aftermarket underdash unit sitting on the floorboard. They cut holes in the firewall and ran the heater hoses to it. It had a house light switch wired up to the battery to turn on and off the fan. It had a clothes dryer vent hose with some 90 degree PVC elbows on each end to direct some of the air up to the windshield for defrost. If you look in my avatar picture you can see one of the PVC elbows sticking up. It's the white circle on the left. The shiney circle on the right is a bicycle horn so that it would pass inspection. You could do something like that."

ok when this first started we all were have a fun inteligent debate but now it has turned stupid. the fact is if you want to buy a $25 side graphix stickers and a big *ss muffler at autozone and call it custom that is fine, it fits your taste but dont try to jack the price up 3 or 4 k and try to sell it because unless they are under 15 or complete burn outs all you will get it laughed at. that is all crossbreed was trying to say and now it has turned into a complete storm of bs. im done with this topic as should the other grown up members on here should be. i think what was said earlier between crossbreed and myself should off cleared up what was mean to be but instead people want to read more into things than what were. im done

I've been letting this thread go because it keeps coming back to sanity once and a while. Certain posters are bordering on the troll-ish right now IMO and need to keep it in check. Yeah. :x

chip foose doesn't do 'custom'. Every paint job is the exact same solid striped theme, cept for maybe one or two

Foose hand fabricated every piece on Christopher Titus's ride. He hand fabricated every piece when he redesigned the Ford Thunderbird (Rides DVD). He took a 4-door 57 Chevy and made it a 2-door. It's kind of annoying that he is pretty much a household name and hocking MacQuires crap on every car channel on tv. But the man made a name for himself, and it wasn't by doing Overhaulin' with a quick trip to Autozone.
Do a google image search using the words "Foose" and "custom" and I think you'll see you're wrong.

How can I be wrong about my own opinion. He doesnt do custom. He does expert work, he's a genius.

Just go take a look at all those cars he's done and tell me how they're different from eachother. Every car is the same goddamn thing, lowered, smoothed body panels or reworked sheet metal to make it curvy, big rims (which you even said wasnt custom), and the same paint scheme on every car I got tired of looking at his work after the third one. It's just boring because it's the same. How can he do 'custom' if he does the same thing over and over
