Got some progress pics on the Galaxie on Tuesday. It was such a busy week I haven't had a chance to post them. The painter got the car taped up and he shot another coat of high build. He said he was going to let it cure for a few days and then the body man would be coming over to block it out. Here are some pics of the car in the booth.....

Dad ordered and has received a new window gasket for the rear window. The painter is going to cut the back glass out of the car before he sprays it. Dad was pleased to report the new gasket was made in the USA. Dad also ordered and received this week a pint of hardener for the Centauri, which the painter requested. We'll take both over when he's ready. That's it for now friends. I'll update again when there's news.

Got some exciting news about a half hour ago. The painter sent pictures and said the prep on the car is done and it's ready for paint. Here's some pics of the final blocking....

Got a text from the painter that he was ready for us to bring the pint of hardener by. Sean, Dad and I went over there after work this evening. We liked what we saw....

His plan is to shoot the top, the deck lid and the hood tomorrow. He's going to let that bake in the sun for a few days, then tape that up and the shoot the sides. It's such a big car he didn't want to try to spray the whole thing at once and risk getting his hose or suit in the paint trying to get the top nice and wet. he has the benefit of the factory seam at the bottom of the sail panels, which is hidden by trim so it gives him a nice break line. Needless to say, we're all very excited. Dad has had this car since 1989. It's finally going to get painted. I should have some pictures with some shiney tomorrow. I'll update when I do. Until then, take care friends. --Jared
