Hey folks going to be pulling my dash soon to run some wiring. Wanted to see if anyone had any luck with dash vinyl repairs. One is on top of hvac controls fairly large 3" or so and there is a small one on top of dash around the size of a quarter. I know I can get a dash cap, but wondering if it was worth trying to repair and paint/dye

I'll get some better photos tomorrow, but you can see them if you have a telescope.. ;)

I can't see how baking soda is going to make a permanent repair. I watched the other dash repair videos, they seem a lot more credible to me...granted they're hawking their product, but they provide some good how-to tips.

Pretty cool with the baking soda.

I wonder how in the world he came up with that idea.

But I really wish his finger go stuck to the dash!!!!

Well I just looked it up and they have been using baking soda and super glue to fix dashboards for years.

Pretty ingenious!

Yeah, I was wondering when his fingers were going to stick to the work...that sh*t isn't too good for your skin either.

As for the baking soda and super glue. It must create some kind of chemical reaction which helps it solidify and bond to the plastic.

Bondo is just pumice and epoxy resin, right?

I really dig this approach. But, FFS put on some gloves and trim your finger nails!
