A little yea and the oil seems a lot thinner than normal but it was warmed up and im horrible with identifying that because im so paranoid I automatically assume the worst lol. Either way the car won't run again until I get the new regulator, plugs and oil change. Should be sometime this weekend when I get paid.
The regulator I think im gonna try is a Summit 1.5-25 psi unit. Hopefully I didn't do too much damage to the Quadrajet running the fuel pressure too high for so long. Even my Holley mechanical pump had the pressure between 7-9 psi!

Two questions:
1) where is the regulator mounted?
The reg should be mounted as close as physically possible to the carb to increase the accuracy of your readings. (Mounted on the fenderwell as some guys do is not optimum).
2) what quality and where is the gauge that you're observing your pressures mounted?
The gauge should be mounted directly on the reg on the carb side (post regulated) to know what the actual regulated pressure is at. A quality gauge is a necessity for accurate readings.
I've used the Holley style regs without issues mounted in this manner. I'm not as up to speed on the pressure requirements for Q jets as Holleys, but it boils down to the same thing: the pressure has to be within spec for that carb or you will flood the float bowls and into the body of the carb.
The 7 psi number is the MAX that Holleys should see, and that's running, not static. You should shoot for your pressure to be more like 4 - 5.5 psi running.
There is the possibility your reg is defective, and that's why you're not able to turn down your pressure enough to get below the 7 psi you have, but I suspect it could be an inaccurate gauge/ incorrect reg placement that's compounding your issues.
If I were you, I would replace or warranty the reg and make sure the reg is mounted as I outlined above. The 25 psi reg is not the correct one you should use IMO.
Hope this helps.
