Hi, just went from an hpipe to xpipe this year. Xpipe is definitely higher pitch. As far as performance, hard to tell, since I did it over winter. Can't figure out how to add a link, but I did a thread on it with before and after clips.

Many times it comes down to fitment with the H-pipe being a little easier than an X-pipe, I made an H-pipe set up for my Monte.due to the size of the exhaust.

Nice set up 565bbchevy! I need to wrap my header collectors and fabricate a heat shield because they are within a couple inches of my NSS on the 4L80E. Any recommendations on which wrap to get?

I installed the 3" Hooker system with X pipe on my car last month. I guess I am putting performance before sound. Before this post I didn't know that an X and H pipe set up sounded that different. Haven't started it yet but hoping it's not too loud and doesn't resonate! I might be swapping out the straight through style mufflers that came with the kit.
