Just about everyone here is telling you the same thing, but you dont like it because you want to run the edelbrock carb

We all tell you what else you would need to change and what will happen if you dont.


Sell the edelbrock save up some money and do it right the first time

Doing that will save you the most amount of money time and headache

I clearly said I was tried of spending hours researching and not getting a answer,,nothing to do with being lazy,,,,I never wanted any part of Forums because of people like you but that is what everyone was suggesting,,,you can sit there and be tough behind your keyboard I really don't care,,it has nothing to do with a shiny carb or this or that is has to do with what I have on hand to use and how much money I don't have right now because of all this virus sh*t going around. I am wanting to replace the Quadrajet carburetor with a Edelbrock 600,,,I know I need a adapter for the tv cable on the transmission but I dont know what kind nor what kind of throttle bracket I need and I will also be using a spacer because I am trying to keep the stock intake...Any help would be nice and thanks in advance

Qjets are far superior to aftermarket carbs. Lots of people have removed their computer systems and ended up making their cars run worse. But its clear the OP came here with his mind already made up and simply wanted reinsurances instead of advice.

It leaks gas into the intake when it is not running,when you first start it it has a real bad miss until it warms up and when it finally warms up when you do stop at a light or stop sign it floods out,,,,I have tried where I live to find a shop to rebuild it and I would buy the kit put no one here will touch carbs and I am not about to try it my self

I am just looking for a answer,,maybe a right one,,if it wasn't for the overdrive transmission then I wouldn't be here asking...I no little about those transmission and what is involved with them,,,me personally I would rather drop a 350 turbo in it and not deal with all this but I need the car to drive everyday to work....I am open to any and all ideas the problem is I have no idea how to rebuild any carb. I have used Eldelbrocks before and had good luck,,,doesn't mean that is the case or will always be the case,,,so I am willing to try whatever I can just to have a car,,this isn't a project car where I have time to let it sit this is my car to get to work or whatever I need to do,,I plan on doing this over a weekend because that is the only time I will not need the car.
