You mean like the Coats I bought in January?

My old boss hooked me up on it. Came from a Costco tire center. I've powered it up and spun it but haven't actually used it yet. Soon.

LOL... I didnt know you bought one in January.

I guess living in the middle of nowhere, it makes a lot of sense.

Honestly, it was born of frustration. The closest tire shop was horrible and didn't even make up for it with good prices. Next closest was 15 miles away. Better service but same prices (same chain) . Between my dad and I, we have enough of a fleet to justify the purchases. I think they'll easily pay for themselves within 5 years. We looked for a decent used tire machine for over a year and came up empty. The Chinese imports like the one we bought (minus the helper arms) go through the local auction houses pretty regularly but seem to sell for more than retail. It's crazy.
I'll be ordering up new set for my work car soon and it'll save me about $200 compared to the not-all-that-local tire shop. This car will devour a set about once a year. I've put 35,000 on it this year and plan to travel even more next year.
I got spoiled being able to buy tires at cost and mount/balance for free at my last job.

Back in the day, I enrolled in the Community College auto shop program when I did not have a garage to use. I chased down a Coats truck in Albuquerque one day and got the contact info for their parts department. For a 50-dollar payment the CC was unwilling to make, I replaced one of the control valves to get mounting machine working again and earned tire-mounting privileges for a few years after that. I still have truck tires from those days holding up projects.

I got out in the hills today for my last ride of the season. My dad and one of his buddies rode along. We rode up Tunnel Canyon so they could see all the canals that come from the reservoir. Then we ended up overlooking the dam and the lake.

Near perfect weather and a nice, easy loop of about 30 miles. The last 8-10 was on the windy paved road along the lower river back to the trailers. Great end to the season.

This was the first time I'd really ridden the blue bike out there. Normally it's the loaner. Even though it's got 3x the miles that the white one has, it's a better running bike. A little more tread on the rear tire too. Maybe this winter I'll yank the carb and see what the jetting is. I know the white bike has stock jetting so I want to duplicate what the blue bike has.

DAmm thats awesome!
