It always really surprises me that there isn't more people at that lake. There are 2 nice boat ramps (red arrows) along with 2 campgrounds and a well maintained day use area. In the peak summer months there will be quite a few campers but still very little in the way of boat traffic.

What you see in the photo is about 5 miles long and the widest part. The lake stretches about 50 miles long. I guess it's conceivable that there's more boat traffic around the corner but I've never seen it.

Maybe I need a boat.

Maybe it seems that way. I've been gone more than I've been home this year. Only got to ride in the hills twice and the Indian ride was do or die. You'll notice that I haven't gotten much done with my project cars either. Cold weather is setting in so my focus will be shifting. My work schedule will have different
types of projects rotating in for the next few months too. More local travel and less international.

By local, I mean all over the northwest. I had a job in TriCities last Thursday, ran to Portland for the weekend, have a job in Boise today, and trying to get one pinned down in Tacoma for Thursday AM. That's roughly 3000 miles in a week. The up side is that I get drive time plus .58/mile. The down side is that there are a couple mountain passes between me and Seattle so I gotta pack chains, just in case. Luckily the SuperVibe is AWD and gets around pretty good in the snow. I want to get new tires on it soon though.

The lake has a lot of water for this time of year! I have a friend with a cabin off if the dry Creek arm. Not easy to get to. It's a different kind of beautiful too. Basically zero trees and huge rock formations everywhere.

I saw lots of deer sign on the east side. My buddy Jerod hunts the west side and saw a small herd from a distance but couldn't close the gap in time. I know they've been scarce the last few years so hopefully that means they're making a comeback. Your buddy's cabin might be a good hunting spot again.

It's a bowfishing dream. Cruise around on his pontoon boat slaying carp until your fingers bleed. Can walk in the shallows when they are spawning and lay waste to them by the dozen.

Happy Fridaho, gents! Started my day by meeting with the bug guy -- girls don't like spider season. Went to the freedom spot.

Went over to my dad's shop and dusted off the barn find balancer and connected it to air and power to get an idea of whether or not it needs any repair.

It powered up and the pneumatic ram works fine. This model has the quick mount clamp instead of the big wingnut -- pretty cool. Of course, the cone that I need was missing so I couldn't really test it out properly. I ordered a set of 4 off Ebay.
I ordered a bunch of weights and misc small tools for it too and they've been trickling in over the last few days. Hopefully I'll be ready to use them in a couple weeks. SuperVibe is ready for new tires.

I cleaned up his shop a little bit, then came home and cleaned my garage for a while. Ended the day with some yard work. It's almost time to do some burning, then there won't be much outside work until spring unless I decide to start on my fencing early. Plenty to do inside anyway.

Looking forward to the shop build.
