I did the passenger side jam the past couple days. There was a lot i had to tape off and places that i left that you will never see but i wanted if you opened the doors it matched.
I might have messed on one part and i need any advice before i do the other side. I took the seat belt lock out and am unsure how it goes back in. It was spring loaded and turned when i took the screws out. So if anyone has a tip on doing that without pulling the back seat and side panels id appreciate it

Took the cutlass to pick my daughter up from school. Felt good to use it for something besides a garage placeholder

Back after graduating 20yrs ago i cut a hole in the hole in hood for a mr gasket street scoop. I didnt want that now so tracked down another stock hood. But i came across a h/o hood scoop and trim locally and with a little tweaking it will bolt onto my original hood. The original hoods front lip has some rust damage that i need to weld up and i welded up the hood pin holes but u believe by spring i can swap this hood for the stock replacement thats on there now and have the h/o scoop. I have too modify the mounting in the front center because of the hole. More pics of that to come. Its too cool to paint and the car is in storage but it's something to keep busy.

My curved trim was powder coated black and the curved piece was aluminum. The flat piece was stainless which i stripped. I glass blasted the curved piece and then polished to match the flat stainless piece. On my scoop mounting i drilled a hole at the front and will add an extra trim clip to hold the front center area

I started rust repair on the hood today. I cut out and welded in the first spot on the front. I butt welded and ground slow to minimize warpage. I missed a pic but i welded a lot more than i got pics of. I think i will only weld in the worst spots and if its a lone small spot grind it and fill. Ill be using evercoat metal to metal filler. Its like bondo but made out of aluminum dust. Its meant to handle structural seams and vibration

I got the hood repairs done and primed. I primed the scoop as well and found that it was silver under the black while sanding it. They both turned out good. Where I had to move the scoop forward about 3/8 of an inch from the factory location I had to modify the center trim. I cut bevels into them so they will lock together somewhat

Since im off work for the time being i brought the car back from storage and painted the drivers inner and outer door jamb and the engine compartment fender edges. I ordered new rear shocks, cargo coils, diff cover and gasket. So this week when everything comes in thats my next step.
