Fishing (2020)

No problem, supposedly 8 above freezing tomorrow. We had our hottest Summer in years. What the hell changed is beyond me.
It was 34°C (94F) here yesterday. We are getting the van ready for its first camping trip out to Payne Lake tomorrow. Its currently 14°C (57) and supposed to be only 11 (51) as a high tomorrow. Going to be an interesting camping trip.

Hey! Labor day is gone- the Rubberhead Navy is gone- and the fish are coming out from under the rocks. Yesterday I got a fat keeper Fluke and a small Blue. Today I boated three nice cocktail Blues, lost two at the boat, and released four Stripers. I am tired- that happy tired you get from fishing! IMG_0002_01.JPG

what did ude use for bait ?

what did you use for bait
I love the Fall! Dead low tide at high noon and the fish are biting! The Fluke liked a long strip of Fluke belly. When I clean them I cut off the fringy strips along the edges. Best bait ever. The Blues and Bass are hitting lures. The go-to has been the AVA 007 with neon green tube tail. Today they wanted a top-water lure and I like the Creek Chub Knucklehead floating popper. Even though I change the tail hook to a single- the front treble is murder to get out of a fish. IMG_0003.JPG

Well, I was working so the Wife went on one last trip to Thunder Rapids on Tuesday. The weather is going to sh*t, snow is in the forecast next week.
The spread out pic is the fish she did up. The Pike were all around 9 pounds, the Walleye, 5 and 6 pounds. Using very big lures although we have also had success with just jigs prior years.

Five Blues in the boat, another five got away. But these yellow eyed devils are THE champeen hook throwers as anyone who has had their arms yanked off would know. They had disappeared for a while but are back and they put on weight and got real obnoxious. 20201021_161251.jpg
