Fishing (2020)

Went to Boundary Reservoir, caught a Walleye and my first Largemouth Bass. It acted like a Bass, came up to the top of water when I caught it.Resized_20200808_093630.jpegResized_20200808_105617.jpegResized_20200808_105649.jpegResized_20200808_105657.jpeg

Close up of my Bass, can you tell I was excited, 5 pics of one fish😁. You can see the coal fired powerplant that heats the water, making a warm water species possible here, since it is uses the reservoir for cooling, water temp was supposedly 80 today. Part of the reservoir never freezes. The reservoir is also very deep 75 ft at the deepest, alot spots over 50 ft deep. Very few shallow areas, long creek which comes from North Dakota dammed up. You can tell this is the edge of the badlands, sandy cliffs and oil country.

Neighbor went up on the Potomac yesterday and came back with a bunch of 20-24" channel and flathead catfish. He slid me a filet I wasn't going to turn down. Nom-nom-nom

You lucky b*st*rd. My Wife let her only Channel Catfish slip away this year, one of the best tasting fish for sure, enjoy!

The first is the only fish she caught on our Reservoir last, biggest one this year. The rest are her trip to Thunder Rapids, the outflow and Hydroelectric dam off World famous Tobin Lake, huge Walleye, 10+ pound are common and 40+ pound Pike and add in big Lake Sturgeon, she caught her first one there last year. She caught some good Pike, one 10+ pounds, no pics going by herself. She also caught something really big, basically stripped all of the 20 pound braid off her reel, she caught back but it broke off. Could have been a Sturgeon but possibly a big Pike or Walleye.FB_IMG_1597236195120.jpgFB_IMG_1597236611785.jpgFB_IMG_1597236495357.jpgFB_IMG_1597236590456.jpgFB_IMG_1597236600054.jpgFB_IMG_1597236581513.jpg
