Wanting to replace my stock coil fan with an aluminum flex fan...

'84 Monte Carlo 305 SBC

I have a stock fan shroud and a long water pump...

What fan size and spacer size would I need ?

There are...but you also have your narcissists...

That's how I can get an answer...

I've sat hours to days in limbo doing what you're suggesting, just to be told not to do something I find out later can be done...

I just want the information I'm asking for, not a lecture...like this flex fan...

The whole reverse rotation thing is completely understandable and I will ask about and look into that next. Thank you mikester

But I hear all the cons, and I see preventive measurements that can more secure the fan from flying out...

Another note is I don't race this car and don't plan to anytime soon. The most I do is 5,000, if that... These fans operate at a max of 8,000...which I never even come close to...

Case in point...I posted my vehicle, my motor, and my question and here we are, post #37+ and I still have no answer to my question, except scoti at least telling me how to measure things to figure out what size spacer I need... Ridiculous...

Other than that, it's "why I shouldn't because of this and that", and turns into the many posts in my threads and the topic of discussion rather than my questions ...

Things that can have preventive measurements taken to secure it more from happening...for instance any spacer 3" or bigger will cause the fan to wobble, hence throwing one threw a hood or radiator... Or even more fundamental, tighten it down snug and use threadlock...

Just saying, say your peace and be done, and if if it raises an interest or concern to me, I will address it...
You 'gotta have some wiggle room here. If you only got an answer to your EXACT question....

You wouldn't have gotten the recommendation of where the fan should be & to actually measure your parts to be sure on what spacer is right for you.
You wouldn't have found out about the recommendation of flex fans not being used in plastic shroud apps.
You also wouldn't have learned about your accessory system being a reverse rotation.

We could have said 'yes' that's the right spacer in response to your question because technically you don't need a spacer if you're not worried about it working correctly.
Would you be ok if it didn't work because it wasn't compatible w/your other parts? These details make a difference & require more discussion. In the added discussions, people will share their insight. Take & do w/that insight what you will but don't complain about it.

Wait a minute, yesterday in your thread about your timing chain issue you mentioned you did not have funds to buy a new timing chain cover ($20) if you screwed that one up. But here you are this morning dropping $63 on an unnecessary item as you have never mentioned cooling issues. Not trying to get into your personal life but when you say things publicly about your funds or things going on in your life that are driving your need to quickly fix something to get your only vehicle back on the road. It becomes frustrating to us who have provided tribal knowledge to get you going asap.

Second you have continually stated that you "have done your research" but your initial posts show nothing of the sorts. I do understand that everyone on here has different levels of knowledge and skill levels, if your opening post shows a very entry level knowledge about that subject matter expect to receive the overwhelming responses trying to steer you in a different/better direction.

If you haven't figured it out by now this forum is filled with great people who truly want to help each other out. You seem like a guy who is not afraid to get in the garage and tackle jobs that are above your skill level, which is the best way to learn. Help us help you by creating a build post or even an intro post with pictures of your car along with your plans/goals and the time line of when you think you will be able to fund it.

Lol... After years of therapy, I know excactly what it means...I'm a childhood trauma survivor, my mother and grandmother are narcissistic, which is a femine trait, and you're the biggest one and the root of the problem...narcissist trigger me...

...every answer you give is a sarcastic answer and turn my questions and concerns into a joke, encouraging others to do the same...

Seriously, if you don't want to provide real help and advice then unfollow my threads and keep your negativity to yourself... 👍🏾🗣🎯‼💯

Wow...here we are yet again, throwing irrelevant things outside topic of discussion, asking me to validate how, when, and where my money is coming from...lol

So here I will again explain my personal information...uhhhhhhhh, I was paid early this for missing hours from a check I received 3 weeks ago...but yesterday before this mornings deposit...guess what ?

BROKE AS A JOKE... The time it took to type all of this, we could've been discussing the topic of the post...

Ok, I need a reverse rotation fan...what size spacer ? 💁🏾‍♂👀🎯‼💯

Sure I've done my research, but have I attempted it before ? No, I've clearly stated I'm new to some things...

The flex fan I used on a previous car, I didn't install from the stock fan, so I don't know what I need to install specifically...🤷🏾‍♂...which is why I'm here asking...

And there are, but I won't keep tolerating the disrespect from others...since I've joined back in August of last year, I've been nothing but respectful even when I was being disrespected...

Simply put, I'm new to some things, love specific detail, and will ask many questions as I go along...

Anyone don't like that ? 👀

Don't follow my threads... 😎👍🏾🎯‼💯

I won't tolerate it anymore
