Do you think There is a good possibility the guy is going to sell it no sense fishing in an empty pond if he wants an arm and a leg for it

True, does anyone really know/want to know how much they put into their cars? I know I could of had my built to spec when new atleast twice in the 29.5 years I've had it.

Scary thing is I have an Excel spreadsheet on almost every dime that has went into my Malibu and since I do all my own stunts it's not as bad as one would think.....yet......

It's sitting at an abandoned "you sell it lot" which means it may not have any sentimental attachment, regardless I'll track down the owner and find out either way for my own curiosity . Same town has what looks to be around a 85' Monte SS at a local cheapy lot too, I do have a working number for them though.

Oh sh*t, forgot I stopped in another town out by where my deer lease is and dropped my number with the owner of a white, 100% stock 1980 Malibu, bucket seat, center console, coupe last weekend also. And I did see a 87' Regal on my weekly Monday route that looked pretty clean.....

Is there a G-bodies Anonymous group available for weekly meetings or are we okay to meet globally here?

Those pics tell me all I need to know. That thing is been sitting for a long time. If you want to build a car to your liking, why would you start with a rotted project like that? So when it's done you can tell everyone "but it's 1 of ? "
Who gives a crap? You're changing everything anyway. This fantasy of saving old cars that should be crushed baffles me. By all means play in the garage and bring back an otherwise neglected example. To me, it makes more sense to start with one that can be saved without spending 10 X the money and effort.

"This is why this hobby is dying" 🤣

Sure, drag it home after probably paying too much. Tear into it and start doing the math on what it's gonna cost to fix it up. Reality sets in. Push it behind the garage and start to wonder if you can sell it to someone else for a little profit cause you've got "too many projects".
