Mm kay, so here's the latest:

Recently have been working on fine-tuning the timing, I installed the Accel adjustable timing advance can and it seems like everything is real close, it's more street friendly and temp doesn't seem to be climbing any more. And it's still scary fast, it doesn't feel like I've lost anything in the way of power by trying to make it more street friendly. I may still have a little fine-tuning to do at the carb, but it's real close.

Went to pull the headliner yesterday, was going to attempt to re-adhere the fabric. Removed the visors and trim pieces, headliner dropped down easy enough with fabric completely loose of the foam/backing board. Tried to maneuver the backing board out of the car and it crumbled in my hands. 😡

Going to order up the ABS backing board from Summit and the foam backed fabric (the original fabric is not in great shape) from someone else to save some bucks. 3M spray adhesive should do the job.

Started building up a pile of new parts to do the gauge cluster swap. New speedo cable and engine sending units to work with the rally pack cluster. Just need to find the motivation to swap the cable and re-pin the connectors for the cluster. Swapping the speedo cable because the cluster is out and I can see the end doesn't spin when I'm driving. Probably a bad cruise control modulator, but the car doesn't have anything else left from the cruise control except the switch in the dash, and I'm trying to clean up the engine bay anyway, so I got the single cable to run from the trans straight to the speedo.

Also bought the 3M panel bonding adhesive and some good filler so I can start working on fixing the hood. (filler cracked out around the cowl scoop)

Wish me luck on finding the motivation to get to work on this stuff.😏

Not much progress to report mechanically, and for now ignoring the headliner and gauge cluster both not being in the car. The hood bondo being cracked around the cowl scoop was really bugging me, so I got to grinding on that the other day. I might go a different direction with the hood. Thinking about using a Trans Am shaker scoop instead of the cowl scoop. I think this would look badass and would require a whole lot less body work (filler) to make it look clean. Going to remove the cowl scoop and see what it looks like with the shaker scoop sitting in its place before I make a decision either way.
