I would like to see a side by side comparison at Today's prices for a bolt in Gbody rear end. I would find it hard to believe with the aftermarket support the 9" enjoys that the 9.3 is cheaper to build.

I bet it’s a lot harder to find a ‘57 Olds/Pontiac rear end than a 9 inch Ford ...

Do you have a write up on the swap? I put one with 4.10s and an LSD in the rear of my Jeep YJ. All that entailed was basically moving the spring pads out about an inch. It looks like there'd be a lot more involved with putting one under the Gbody. It's an awesome axle and holds up to tons of abuse off-road under a Jeep anyway.

Are there weld on Tabs and coil buckets or a kit to make the swap? and retain stock suspension geometry? All I've seen is mention that Bulldawg Musclecars may offer one for the Gbody in the future but only have the Abody on their site.

Sorry there is no write up on what I did, I built a 3-Link geometry that included a watts link for centering, It was a total one off setup from reading various ideas on rear suspension from several different forums that involved lots of fabrication, the end result, the car drives fantastic.

The Watts setup is the slickest out there, but all of them are engineering marvels implying alot of blood, sweat and tears to get them installed correctly. And then they always leave the diff as a PITA to work on. Keep track of all of your welds!!! Every homegorwon Watts I've seen has fallen to the demise of the crappy welds.

They handle so damn well, that everyone pushes them to the limit. The issue comes when the limit is found.

I am guessing no over the axle tailpipes with that set up.

You're correct, however the rear end setup wasn't the deciding factor for that, I originally put side dumps on this car in the late 90's before I ever started thinking about what it's become today, but having 3.5" exhaust makes that decision even easier...
