Re: GNX2 Has Arrived(Apr. 8, 2011)

Nothing major I have done to it. I picked up a gear box from a grand prix for $60, red top optima battery for $50, and holley 600 for $80. I also started on the body work so I wont be so far behind when more parts start to come in.

I will be looking to pick up a jeep intermediate shaft, mark vii fan, aluminum radiator, and a few suspension parts tomorrow.

Picked up a few more items today. Grand prix intermediate shaft, electric fan, electric fan relay kit

Electric fan relay kit. On at 185 and off at 170. Comes with everything.

This fan is off a 99 Grand Marquis. Its size is comparable to the Mark Vii fan. On the back it says Ford so they might use the same motor. I am pretty sure I wont have any problems with this fan cooling. A good thing to note on this fan is it has what terminal is positive and which is negative. The middle one has not indication what it is so if anybody knows I would love to know. The shroud is too big though and will have to be cut.

I just went ahead and got a gbody shaft. I had a lead on a jeep one for $20 but they ran out of time to pull it. The guy could have pulled it but he really didnt want to anyway.

Decided to go ahead and wipe some of the dents

For transmission I am thinking 4l80e or a t5. T5 will allow me to run more gear but I want to build another beast with all the creature comforts.

Your not going to get a T5 to live at all behind any kind of serious power, let alone the torque of a big block.

I knew a guy that used a T5 to get his Olds setup for a manual trans behind his 455. His plan was to make do with the T5 until he could afford a better trans. He ended up "making do" with a total 5 or so T5's before he finally put something better in.

Im sticking with the th350 and sbc350. I almost pulled the trigger on the caddy 500 just to have it but priorities have changed dramatically.
