Re: going to the track sat but another what will she run gue

First things I would do is cheap aftermarket lower control arms. Next an air bag in the passenger-side rear coil to pre-load the suspension. Third if you are not upgrading to a 200-4R get a 2,500 stall for that cam & motor. BTW if your cam is advanced right I would expect it to really come on at 2,500 instead of 3,000. If you could do a lock up converter like the overdrives trans have you could take advantage of even more stall without other issues that you get with the three speed.

Last get a better gear. Assuming you still want to be able to somewhat comfortably afford-ably drive it places (no issues) I would suggest a 3.23 as it provides most of the acceleration benefit but is not over the top as a driver with a non overdrive three speed. Between these I would expect you to drop your 60 foot of 2.76 four or five tenths! A 2.26 would not be out of the way. People usually drop 1.5 tenths in the quarter for every tenth in 60 foot. I would expect to see at least a 13.5 @ 103 with these upgrades probably even considerably lower with slicks.

Hey. Just want to throw this out there. I feel you guys are doing something way wrong if you're only pulling 14.0 flat with your combos. I had a 350 making MAYBE 280 wheel HP. Compucam 2020 with vortec heads. worn BFG 225 15 inch tires w a 2.23 rear gear. TH350 w/ mild shift kit. Lowered with springs in the rear and spindles up front.

Ran 14.1 with a 2.4 60ft and a sway bar. took the sway bar off, ran a 14.0 with a 2.2 60 ft. bone stock rear end. I didn't spin off the line, just rolled out as quick as i could without spinning.

Are you sure you wheel bearings are in good shape? engine is tuned up proper? I know I ran a 14.0 with my primaries pretty lean, too lean for max power. Coulda done better with a better tune. Also, my throttle wasn't working right last year so it never opened past 90%. Also had many other issues. Are you overfilling your oil? Are you using quality syntethic lubricants? Is your airflow restricted? Because seriously the car easily could have easily run faster with slicks. like 13.5s. And I live in Edmonton, Alberta...pretty high up. Bad air.

I really think that you could be pulling better times with your current combo. There may be other areas of performance yo are overlooking.

14.0 with a 2.7x 60' time is amazing for that setup. I don't even know how its possible to pull one that terrible. Does your track do like, zero prep? lol

Anyways, cut that short time down to a typical street tire number (2.1-2.2), and that car will be a low 13 second car. Which, with your setup sounds pretty damn good.

2.4, dude. Not 2.7 lol. That would be even worse than im capable of. 14.0 with a 2.2. The track does prep, it's somewhat sticky. That's not the problem. The problem is that my weigh bias is hugely front (like 58-42), and i have crappy belltech DropZone shocks, and 225 rear tires on a peg-leg 2.23. I have the mph for a lot lower times, i just can' hook the car at all. i have to roll out pretty slow, can't go full throttle till at least 330".

I think you meant to quote the original poster, lol.

I was talking about him running a 2.76 60' time, but i quoted you because you said his car isnt running as well as it should. I was just stating that with his setup, and only being able to pull a 2.76 60foot, a 14.0 is a hell of an accomplishment. It really shows that the car is making good power, but the ET is suffering because it wont get out of the hole worth a damn.

Yeah agreed. That's a terrible 60 ft. I never saw that before just now. derp.
