gotta give this guy credit for at least trying

Natasha instructed me to start shopping our 4 year old on what kind of car she wants for a first car - she'll be eligible for her license in about 12 years.

I can tell you it will NOT be a sh*t box 944.

A late-LT1/LS1 Corvette is more probable.

Buying a Corvette for your 4 year old? Sounds like a solid parenting move...

They already have a Power Wheels C6, the oldest has been driving since she turned 3. So... 😛

I guess these cars were intended to be "entry level" Porsches. I've ridden in a 944 turbo and it was no slug. The 944 turbos were infamous for blowing head gaskets.
My bosses car at the time suffered that fate and it wasn't cost effective to repair. Well, he was unable to do the work anyway.
All in all these cars don't drive too bad. I certainly wouldn't mind owning one with a 5.3 LS backed up by a T5 or T56.

Hell she's ready for the Nürburgring by now! She can't be putting around in a Corvette, that at least warrants a Porsche 911 GT3! Lol

They were definitely intended to be entry level Porsches. I personally think they were decent looking cars if unreliable, but the 944 Turbos could hold their own. They had nearly perfect weight distribution, which made them handle really well. An LS swapped 944 would make for a great all-around vehicle IMO.

If I was in the market for an impractical (even by old car standards) 80's euro car I think Id get a vert beamer or a 9-3 turbo. I dont think those 944s were designed very attractively. Now the new 911 I saw parked the other day.... just gorgeous.

Still looks like a doofuss Porsche or not!!

I'm late to the party.
Sorry to the owner, but if there's one thing I hate it's flat/matte/satin black with factory gloss red door jambs. Actually, I just hate any car that used to be gloss red on the outside but still is on the inside.

914 FTW! Despised even when new!

Now THAT'S entry-level

That one happens to be a limited edition model. I admit, when they first came out in '70, I thought wtf were they thinking? But these cars are now sought after and the prices reflect that. Just like old VW's. They were all over the place like Honda Civics. The prices of them are now astronomical.
