I've had a lot of trouble with aftermarket temp sensors. I would stick with AC Delco even if it's beat up.

took her out for a spin, basically confirmed that the temp sender is wonky. shoots up to 3/4 gauge and then you can see the thermostat kick in, fall back off and then come up again stabilize. no problem. Punished it a little harder this time and nothing broke. I think we may be back in business. *knocks on nearest wood*

and blasted her off with the new pressure washer, foam cannon and everything. then a wash with dish soap to get all the old wax off. Neglected to take a photo outside of course, derp. I'll get after her with the polishing compound and take on those clear coat scuffs next. definitely what they were. I was surprised the old wax was still holding up as good as it was. Shame to strip it off :( After that gotta wash my nasty cover, deal with the wheels and tires, clean all the glass, and get after the interior and under the hood.

Finished the wax, glass, chrome, inside, wheels/tires. Whew. Gonna get another coat of hard shell but not today.

I tried to use polishing compound on the clear coat “imprints” but it didn’t touch it. It’ll have to wait until I can pay someone who knows what they’re doing. I’ll probably burn right through it and screw it up lol.

So... Photo op with ugly little sister. The cutlass really looks terrible next to the GP. Not even funny.

Finally got a replacement bam bam too.

Random order since that’s how they uploaded. Pic of Dino just bc.

Footnote: noticed some new rust spots and paint bubbles I didn’t care for. More on that later. :(

hood is on! almost like a real car again. Still need to tweak the fit, clean her up and wash the cover but there she is. In bed with the rest of the family for the night. cleanest that table's been in years. :wax::banana::friday: So much crap in there to get rid of now.

What's the best way to get minor scuffs and marks out of clear coat?

Dino is able to store its own spare parts plus the other two's bits FTW.
You've got a nice collection of G-Bodies.

Dino is the El Camino ;)

The BamBam key chain I had on my rear view mirror way back about 20 years ago. It got lost when the windshield got replaced back in 2000-ish. I found a replacement in a whole set of 1990's Flintstones keychains, so all the cars get them. My 4Runner is Fred, The Gray Car is BamBam, The Cutlass is Betty Rumble, Dino the El Camino, etc.
