I'm compelled to impulse buy a 63 year old boat Talk me down.

DO IT. I recommend a fiberglass mid 1960s starcraft deep-v if you can find one. Had one, with the curved one piece windshield, GREAT boat. Can't go wrong with that era though.

Just yesterday found this in the garage-stuff area from it:

Old Johnson controls radio.... need to refurb it and find a worthy boat to put it in. Also have a set of throttle and cables of same era.

New tire. It's a bit of a hassle but I couldn't ignore it any longer.

I almost bought a 50 year old boat last year. Smaller one but still bug enough to take out on the rivers. Storing it was the main problem so I passed.

You're racking up supertrucker level mileage going 500+ for work.
