Those chickens are gonna be living in high cotton!

Chickens needed deep pockets for the Lowes / Home Depot run on Saturday.

So, Supervibe overheard me talking about a replacement and acted out. Started making bearing noises a few thousand miles ago. I've done some stethoscope diag and so far have replaced LF, RF, LR wheel bearings, re-entered and staked a Ujoint that had some lateral play, subbed the original LF axle back in, replaced the RF axle with support bearing and, ultimately, the transfer case.
...and it still has a drone. At this point I'm going to replace the front Ujoint for good measure. Everything I've replaced so far has made an improvement, but it's not gone yet. We're at 356,000 miles.

FSM says you need to pull the engine and transmission, then separate the transfer case. An air saw to clearance a casting on the side of the block created a shortcut.

And I've made friends with one of the local ranchers. Freezer is full of giant grass-fed steaks. Suck it, vegans.

Wiring is done, plumbing isn't.

All the tin siding is done. Corners and roof flashing soon. We had to quit early today, then it started spitting snow.

Supervibe update; Turns out the LF wheel bearing I replaced last month was defective. It was the last noisemaker. All better now. It's surprising how much sound transfers in an AWD system.

Meanwhile, my dad has been ordering parts for his pickup. He got stir-crazy and started on brakes. So much for saving that project for next winter.

Looks like a luxury chicken lodge to me!
