Well you do have more room for batteries than most of us.As I’ve said, if I could do an EV conversion for close to the price of an E-Rod with 200-300 mile range, I’d do it in a heartbeat. But we’re a long way from that being the case.

I am sure a few that raced it were initially telling themselves "There is no way I am going to loose a race to an electric car"
big difference is you can rebuild your engine or build a new one and your 30 year old car and there is no reason your car can't make it another 30 years. I'd like to see where that Telsa is 30 years from now and where are spare parts sold for it.
The motors for them are simple. Just another part number. The batteries are the big cost. Electric cars were in competition with ICE engined as well as steam powered vehicles. There is one really good reason the Internal combustion engine has dominated for so long. Big Oil.
Current battery tech helps too.
I mentioned where to buy parts for a Tesla due to my sarcastic nature.....Tesla will not sell parts, and that is if they have them, to private individuals. And if the Tesla ever goes to sleep or you change the battery good luck in trying to get it started, Tesla has a special computer to hook up to the car to input a code and to do a rest so the car can be turned on. Like I said I'd like to see where the Tesla is in 30 years.
I wonder if you can hack these things. Maybe completely remove the computer and replace it with something else. There has to be a way, it's just hard parts and wires outside of the computer.
I've heard of a guy that rebuilt one that was totaled and Tesla won't then it back on. That's interesting.
from what I have read it seems like Tesla is using the buyers as the test pilots and they do not want anyone to touch the car. .
.... Yah, but in the next Zip Code!It sounds like you are saying my "sleeper" Monte might wake the neighbors.
