I had started smoothing and welding up unneeded holes in the core support top a few months ago. I got most of it finished today. I welded square nuts under the holes for the front fender to core support braces. This will clean that up instead of having the slip nut. I also removed the hideous hood adjustment bumpers and welded square nuts under those. I'll use some from a 55 Chevy that are basic but cleaner. No one will notice it and that's cool. My vision for the car is to look bone stock but it will have a lot of small custom touches to make it clean. I'm about to keep it because its so rare and unique. I was going to use the money for my 55 Chevy but every time I sell one I finish, it kinda hurts. I've been losing sleep over selling it. I love G-bodies and have owned lots. My first car was a 2 door 79 Regal Limited. The cars drive and ride great. There's not many around anymore and I would use it as a daily driver. What do you guys think? Sell or keep? I don't need the money that bad. Hell, I could save enough for the AC kit for my 55.

I also vote to keep it. Granted it's not a '55 Chevy, but heck, it's a pretty unique car. You don't see many of them around, even when these cars were in production.

Now I got to grind all my welds and re weld missed spots and grind again. I'll wipe the top with filler so it will be smooth and level. I did not weld up the unnedded holes in the back middle because the fan shroud covers them. If you remember, I fabbed a cold air inlet for my stock air cleaner. I drilled some holes in the core support for a little more air flow on that side. I also drilled the LH header panel bracket.

I have not seen your Cutlass Salon thread before and want to say your car will be beautiful. The reason I say this that I have the same car running as a Pro bracket race car. Many time people don`t even know what it is. Here is a photo of the car at Portland Raceway in Portland Oregon. 8)

It was bad cloudy and was supposed to rain today. I was afraid to start doing bodywork and it start raining so I painted a bunch of small engine parts- Harmonic balancer, crank pulley, water pump pulley, and alternator. The alternator was a reman but the upper bolt hole had its threads repaired with a heli coil I guess when they rebuilt it. It was drilled crooked and it took a metric bolt. I had another alternator that was no good and so I removed the forward section. I swapped out the new front bearing and gutted the reman rear section. I painted the 2 bodys galaxy gray met. I sprayed the fan flat black so it would be a different shade from the satin black pulley. I painted the winding center electric current red. Put it all back together and it looks new. I put a painless wiring sticker on it for no real reason other than the new 2 wire plug is from them. I tried to make it tasteful but not too "in your face"

Bruce, its funny you mentioned your from Portland. I was there (Gresham) a couple months ago staying with a friend. At one point I looked to my right and seen a black aero sitting beside a house while he was driving all of us to Olive Garden to eat. Was that your car?
