I got a Dynomat brand roller but the sheets were wrinkled in the box. Ebay special from 4 years ago. I ordered a new box from Summit that's supposed to be here today with my main bearings. I'm all suited up and going out to the garage. Looks pretty cloudy today though. Worked on my house all day yesterday with my wife. This is my wall project that has taken a lot of time. I used 1" thick cedar and poplar boards that we stained 4 different colors. We picked through tons of boards at the stores to find unique grains and features. I even found a use for a knot hole and a silver dollar. This is our first time to have a wall mounted TV. Sure opened up some room. I'm going to give the fireplace a makeover.

I called my boss this morning and got next week off. I need the wifes surprise Monte SS in the garage and the Salon is taking the spot. I'm going to do an 8 day thrash on the Salon. I should have the engine reassembled, painted, installed, and running/moving. Also the front clip installed. I need to body work, prime, and paint the bumpers. The deck lid needs painted, windshield and trim installed, carpet, front seats need the new covers put on. The rear end pops when I roll it but only when the wheels are turned. I'm pretty sure it's the new crush sleeve I installed. I don't think I have it crushed. I've just cleaned the garage and moved the engine block to the stand. It's supposed to rain a couple days but got stuff I can do indoors like front seats.

here's a good trick to help crush a sleeve

Got the carpet put in. Going to have to use a heat gun held back pretty far in places. I set the carpet in the sun before installing it but the sun keeps getting behind clouds. Going to install windshield today but have to go dig it out of my shed.

I did not get the windshield in. I only had one tube of window weld here. UPS showed up with my main and rod bearings. I got the crank in and two pistons before my wife got here with my dinner.

Finished the short block and got it painted. My paint on the timing cover was in nice shape so I taped it off. I liked this because I did not paint the black ARPs. Didn't care about the pan bolts because they are the new ones that come with the Fel Pro one piece pan gasket. Can't see them anyway. I really don't want to paint my new black ARP head bolts so I used an old set of gaskets and lifted them up off the surface just a little so the paint could barely get under. I used silver, gray, red, black, and white paint pens on the logos for the intake just to give it detail. I went with this intake because it's lower rise than the Weiand I had on it before. Pretty sure the engine with trans is going in the car tomorrow. Should have it running Thursday.

After unmasking the engine, I noticed the difference in shade on the timing cover. I was not planning on painting the heads and water pump. I bit the bullet and sanded them and painted them and a few other pieces. I used a 2nd can to cover and then used what was left from the first can to get the same shade

Moving along pretty good. The engine and trans is bolted in. Also got the shifter back in and the Z bar stuff hooked back up. I'll be firing it off tomorrow afternoon.

Did not get it fired off. Swapping the intake screwed up a bunch of crap. I also swapped to 45 degree boot plug wires to get them off the steering shaft. They are cut to fit so that's gonna suck. Shooting for noon tomorrow
