To eliminate any further conflict i will bite the bullet and take this car and keep it as my own so that no one will have to suffer through driving it. Its the least i can do. Real heroes don't wear capes fellas.
What? The venerable Hemi blew up LOL? I like the fact that he resurrected an old clapped out regal but IMO the car would be way cooler with a properly built LSA. On the street anything over 400 whp in a G body is useless unless your tubbed. Guys going for the highest horsepower numbers have a small man complex. 🤣The car is real. He dragged it from a field all clapped out. He swapped the engine in, but he blew the motor. It’s currently being rebuilt.
Untrue statement there's no reason to have less than 400 and there's lots of ways to use it lolWhat? The venerable Hemi blew up LOL? The rear suspension was changedBased on my own personal tastes. YMMV.
With this kind of swap, can you call this car a "Trans" National now? 🙂 How does it identify?
Pros:
-Doing his own thing...everyone else can suck his shifter knob if they hate it
-Effort. That's a lot of work, regardless if you like it or not.
-Used a G-body as a platform
-Did something unique with it, at least for now
-Stance
-Tubbed that beech and got the fat azz tires UNDER the car
-Did a good job of keeping things clean and neat under the hood (hardly any useless spaghetti)
-Got a bunch of people talking about it
-Pizzing off the jelly people that they didn't do something unique with their own clapped out GN/Regal/whatever it is
Cons:
-Doesn't appear to be completely thought through when installing that monster engine and what it can do to the frame (looks a bit naked underneath the rear- will it plant?). Not sure of the plans for the suspension/traction, twist part of this equation has come to fruition. Just don't leave it like that or you'll buy a lot of rear tires.
-Wing on the back looking kinda stupid. FE3X wannabe. And it looks stupid, too.
-I'm not a fan of his project, but it is rather unique and hope it gets finished. Did he sell it? I don't do facespace, so I won't bother to look or worry about it.
-Not sure how he came across this hemi, but if it cost him an arm and a leg to obtain, then it isn't in the main vein of the hot rodder credo. If low-bucks, then good on him.
he doesn’t have a shop. He’s a regular guy doing it in his spare time. The car is being tuned, and some details ironed out at a shop. I’ve talked with Enrique quite a few times and he’s a cool dude that wanted something different.I followed his build for a while on the "Gram". From what I could figure he was a guy with struggling shop trying to build hype. Its a cool idea but also extemely boring, might as well just buy the new 632 crate and give up on hot rodding.
The guy building the LT based turbo 4.3L V6 in a GN, now thats a cool F'N build.
Grand National with a Turbo 4.3 L Ecotec V6
Jeff and Dan Jost from Jost Boosted Performance enjoy building hot rods with a lot of power as a hobby. So when the factory turbocharged 3.8 L V6 (LC2) in their Buick Grand National suffered a catastrophic failure, there was nothing holding them back from rebuilding the car the way they wanted...engineswapdepot.com
Oh, I'd disagree.Untrue statement there's no reason to have less than 400 and there's lots of ways to use it lol
I disagree. Maybe you didn’t understand my point. I’m talking about stop light to stop light from a dig on the street. I have the largest drag radials that will fit on my car and there’s no way I can hook up unless I’m going over 50 miles an hour. Prove me wrong. Do you have that kind of power at the rear wheels in a G body or even been in a car at this power level? Please explain “ lots of ways to use it“. The only way I know of is to create tire smoke.Untrue statement there's no reason to have less than 400 and there's lots of ways to use it lol
I'm probably around 700 ,I don't really got traction issues but I spent alot of time in making my car work right on shitty surfaces... also BTW it was just a harmless remark calm downI disagree. Maybe you didn’t understand my point. I’m talking about stop light to stop light from a dig. I have the largest tire possible on my car and there’s no way I can hook up unless I’m going over 50 miles an hour. Prove me wrong. Do you have that kind of power at the rear wheels in a G body? Sounds like all the roads in PA are prepped or your engine does not produce enough Torque.I'm probably around 700 ,I don't really got traction issues but I spent alot of time in making my car work right also
