Go to the hardware store and buy a 90 degree fitting they have all kinds of adapter in the plumming section ... What your looking for is a 90 degree 1/8 pipe tread on one end and 1/8 compression fitting on the other ... you just slip the nut over your tubing then the compression ring then tighten the ring is tapered so when you tighten it it crimps on to the tube making it not leak ... that being said you do not have to crank it as tight as you can ... 😀
NAPA also offers these in our brass fitting bin. If there is already a compression sleeve smashed on the nylon oil line, you are going to want to cut that off and put a new one on. Its not really a good idea to reuse those after their original seal has been broken. They cost like $0.05, so its completely worth it to just replace it, instead of leaking oil all over and then replacing it.
So, cut off that section. Take the piece to NAPA (or whichever store you go to) to be 100% certain that you have the correct size. Just let them know that you need a compression union to 1/8 male NPT fitting

Its not a nylon line it is metal and it is not a compression fitting currently.

Sorry, more information is likely needed.
The end of the metal tube is flared which holds the threaded collar on.

I would need a male fitting to thread into the collar and butt up against the flared tubing to make the seal.

Sorry about the confusion.

glad you using a metal line...that flare can be redone if need be like a brake line but the fitting you need has to mate with a flared line..have you checked the website for the manufacturer of the gauge?

I did yes,
The gauge is an Auto Meter Auto Gage 2312
It looks like the gauge comes stock with a nylon tube so it doesn't help me.

Hmmm, you got me thinking.
I have a flare tool. If I need to, I could re-do the flare. I bet the new fitting would be the same as what i have now. Maybe we are getting somewhere.
Is there a specific name for the male part of a flare fitting?

there is two types of flares , inverted and single. It's probably an inverted flare and you just have to have the right fitting for the type of flare

You are looking for a 1/8 male NPT to ??? inverted flare. You still need to know the tube size because that is how the thread is referred to with tubing.

Okay, I'm not sure which it is.
Are AN fittings for flares too?

AN is a different style of flare. They are not made for double flared tubing. If it is really close to 1/8 NPT size, it is probably 1/4 tube.

If it is 1/4" tube your part number will be, WH. #202x4
If it is 3/16" tube, your part number will be, WH. #202x3

The "WH" just stands for Weatherhead

Thanks Ritter and Pontiac GP.
I just went to the local hardware store because it is about a block from where i work.
I found a couple of fittings that are just a wee bit larger than the 1/8" NPT with male NPT on the other end.
It would be pretty good if my search is over. I won't get my hopes up too high.

Good thing I didn't get my hopes up.
The parts I found were the correct size but incorrect thread.
They would only go together about 1 rotation.

I got excited for a second when it started to work....bah.
