High idle or just crazy?

It will probably idle down when you shift it into gear, but fix the brakes first.

Once you confirm that your choke linkage is fine (LET THE THING WARM UP FOR PETE'S SAKE), if it still doesn't come down off high idle, even when you tap the gas (little tap will do), wait over night so it's stone cold. Set the choke fast idle by cracking the throttle open and pushing the grey elephant ear thing and the green thing all the way up, and tighten the fast idle screw under the choke housing (it's a small philips or flathead screw) a turn or two. If you notice, while the linkage is up and you turn the screw in it opens the throttle, therefore making it idle higher. Once you get that tach you've been pondering, this will make it easier to set. Hook up the tach, then do the steps I just listed. Cold high idle is anywhere from 1100-1300 usually. Hot in park CHOKE FLAP FULLY OPEN is usually 8-900. Then you set curb idle ONLY when the engine is hot, and that's the screw on the driver's side next to the throttle linkage. If it still won't work, check your connections for the choke tube at the intake to make sure it isn't leaking, and check if your choke thermostat is functioning. But before all that, let the damn thing sit there and idle for a while, a good 20-30 minutes to be sure it gets upto operating temp.

The nada average says more than I'm asking.

17 and change for an average shape base regal
Keep in mind that your car is NOT DRIIVEABLE which will then lower the price even more.

that does not reflect the location and for these cars it all depends on a buyer who knows what he/she is buying. Nada has no criteria in what the milage is or the condition of the vehicle so as far as I am concerned Nada is useless. It's not like these car are sold every day so I wonder where Nada gets their information from.

I don't believe in NADA either

But since the owner states he is going by NADA and his price is lower then what NADA is showing. Well i am not sure what he is looking at.

That price is for the St Louis area.

i really dont know what you have against me bud

Is the car a Limited?

You have the base model interior

I do not see any Limited badging .

If it is a Limited model then I am wrong.

I have nothing against you.

You have come here asking for advice (like we all do) about the car and some people agree and some disagree.

Honestly I wish you would just fix the brakes the right way already.

i didnt come here to discuss the brakes, i came here to figure out if this is a high idle. if i had the time i would replace every single brake line on the car but its just not worth it to me because i have to drive 30 minutes just to get to the car, plus every time i get there i realize i dont have something i need, i go home have to order it, wait for it, and drive 30 minutes again. im not complaining im just saying its better if i sell it how it is to someone who has time to fix this. plus i have the money for the 240sx i just need a garage space temporarily.
