looks like its chained down at the chassis. No windsheild or headlights and the cab is sitting too high on the frame or the box too low. Maybe the straps are there because the hood and box may not be bolted down ??

I used to do flat bed trucking...that load need more straps in order to be compliant! :)

I agree with axisg, the straps are not needed since the frame is chained front and back so there must be a reason for the straps. It's lucky that the pick up's body is made from real metal so the sheet metal doesn't fold under the pressure of the straps.

I'm guessing no hood latch and the bed isn't bolted down.
