how to upgrade alternator

In Picture #1 shows part number EC82 with the resistor, cuase it has the black tape were the resistor is...

In Picture#2 shows part number EC80 with out resistor, shows no black tape wire..

Called NAPA and they will order EC82 with resistor

Funny, I bought one of those in two wire form from Bill on Ebay. He's getting it back tomorrow as the first one didn't work worth a damn. I'll report if #2 is any better......

Yeah I was looking at his page on e-bay. One thing I was wondering is , the cs130 alts put out 105amps. He advertises 140? is that right? what do yall think?

cs130 = 105 amps
cs144 = 140amps
 
Ok guys my bracket is not lining up with the alternators bolt, and it way off with the stock bracket.. :wtf: is there something im doing wrong? Is this alt set up only for driver side one belt pulley set up? Are they universal? Please chime in and post pics.. What am i doing wrong? It looks like the alt sit low and do i need a different bracket?

Used old tube bracket to slide long bolt in:

Looks like you have the wrong alternator. I believe you need one where the ears are at 12 O'clock and 6 O'clock.

Yeah friend, you got the 10-to-6 clock one...you need the 12-to-6 one...look at my post a few above this one and check out the one on E-Bay I mentioned, theres a link there...No matter whatyou go, you need the 12-6- one 8)

How many style cs130 are there? I took this off a 92 chevy pick up 5.7L and the alt was on the driver side, when i went to autozone we looked up a Caprice and the 92 pick up and was same alternator... Us the stamped number on alt let me know that it was a cs130 105 amp alternator...just confused...
